Do You Want FAST Mastery of Your KICKS?

Kicks that you can Master in 5-6 Months?

Or Do you Prefer the Standard Method? Kick and kick and kick some more and hope that it will work somehow, eventually. If you are open to a new method, Read On!

Here is the Eye Opening Truth: If you want SPEED, You MUST train a sequence that develops SPEED! If you want KICKING HEIGHT, You MUST train a progression that develops KICKING HEIGHT, etc.

The worst thing you can do is.... “just keep kicking". I know people who have been “just kicking” for 2 years, and I also know those with 30 years of "just kicking" experience under their belt. NEITHER have developed any top-level qualities in their kicks. (By quality I mean; speed, power, height, focus, control, etc)

However, after I showed them how to train for a specific quality of a kick, it took them just weeks. YOU READ THAT RIGHT, just weeks to improve their kicks like they could not do in years.

So what I'm offering you in these training programs is Extremely Fast Progress- One Quality At a Time. IF You Understand That Each Quality Must be Developed One At a Time, and Only Then Can it Be Mastered Quickly Then Please Read On....

Now briefly, I will tell you who I am and what I do. (If you already are familiar with ElasticSteel and me, Paul Zaichik, skip this part)
I am a life long martial artist. (37 years in martial arts, as of 2023). My education is in Kinesiology. I have been studying, researching and teaching kinesiology for 23 years. As you can imagine, my main areas of study were and still are:
  • Biomechanics
  • Motor Learning
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Human Movement
I have always applied much of my research to Martial Arts. That is why, when I look at the mastery of kicking techniques, I see it from a completely different point of view, compared to most people.

So, when you get this Kick combo, you will get the following:

Very Short and to the point and very easy to understand and follow routines for basic kicks. The quality improvement is focused on the following kicks:
  • Front Kick,
  • Roundhouse
  • Side Kick
  • Hook Kick
  • Axe Kick
Each routine designed for quick mastery of a kick and a chosen quality. Example:
  • speed or a roundhouse kick
  • power of a front kick
  • height of a side kick, etc.
Especially selected exercises that have been carefully chosen from many already very effective and rare exercises, to achieve the fastest results. (Again, each one for a specific quality or a specific kick). Routines to master advanced kicks as well. (Flying side kick, Scorpion Kick, Flying Side Kick, Flying Two Direction Scissors kick).

But if you don’t know anything about me, you probably find all this too good to be true. If I have trained the same way for years, without any results, I would definitely be skeptical of some “new method” I just discovered.

Can this really help me?
I hope you are skeptical. The more skeptical you are the more you will enjoy the results. And more likely you will tell your friends about them. That’s how word of the mouth works. From people who are pleasantly surprised by the results…

37 years of Martial Arts experience and in-depth knowledge of the human body, now offered to YOU
in 20 chapters.

Here's a detailed look at what this combo has to offer:

Side Kick Height - Height Development

This is a program for the kicking height for all 3 side line kicks:
    • Side Kick
    • Roundhouse Kick
    • Hook Kick
Kicking height of the side line kicks, depends on the flexibility of the supporting leg or standing leg.

In this training program you will learn:
  • Very short and straight to the point method of developing kicking height:
  • 3 carefully selected Zaichik Stretching Technique exercises for flexibility (formerly called Kinesiological Stretching Techniques). Each one takes just a few seconds to complete per round. Together these techniques develop super fast flexibility.
  • Combined with extended length conditioning strength technique, the body quickly develops the range of motion for high kicks.

Side Kick Technical Kicking Leg

Ideally developing the kicking leg should take place even before a single kick is thrown. However that’s not possible for most people. Everyone who lands on this page, has already thrown kicks.

In this training program you will learn:
  • How to strengthen the muscles of the kicking leg in proper ranges for optimal kicks.
  • Two forms of Zaichik Stretching Technique (formerly known as Kinesiological Stretching Techniques)
  • 4 level short range contractions with 3 exercises per level.

Side Kick and Side Line Kicks: Trunk Flexibility and Strength Development for Optimum Kicks Development

Torso position is what makes or breaks the 3 sideline kicks. If your torso is strong and flexible the kick is hard to see when it’s coming. If the trunk is stiff and weak, it will drop before the kick is initiated. It can be seen a mile away.

In this training program you will learn:

  • The flexibility and strength training of the torso.
  • It will greatly develop the core.
  • To improve every aspect of the Side Kick, Roundhouse Kick and Hook Kick

Side Kick Precision & Accuracy Development Program

Side kick is the kick known for it’s power. Side kick is also the least accurate kick of all kicks. Muscles used in the kick are large and powerful. Regulation of these muscles is called gross motor control. The opposite of GMC is fine motor control.

In this training program you will learn:
  • How to land the side kick onto exact intended target, while hitting with full speed and power.
  • To know where you heel is when throwing the side kick.
  • To develope & master a straight line.

Side Kick Speed Development

When it comes to speed training chances of injuries is very high. This does not apply only to side kick of course. Slowing the kick down is the moment when injuries happen. Every fast kick needs to be decelerated. So you need to pull the kick back. The faster you kick, the harder you need to pull it back. In case of the side kick the hip flexors and adductors do most of that “pulling back”.

In this training program you will learn:
  • To get full range of motion in the decelerator muscles.
  • To strengthen them.
  • Make them stronger first while moving slow and then fast.
  • To work on the kicks assisted by artificial deceleration.
  • To Move from easiest range to the most challenging range.

Side Kick Power Development

Side Kick has been developed for power. It’s advantage is full mass acceleration, indirect like with the impact. Joint effort of the strongest muscle groups in the body. No weak link to give or buckle upon impact. All these factors compound a biomechanically advantageous “go to” weapon, when raw power is called for.

In this training program you will learn:
  • To prepare you to kick hard and feel good doing it.
  • How to quickly drive the mass into the target.
  • To properly train the supporting structures, both for accelerations and stability.

Side Kick: Neutralizing Opponent Defends & Guard Penetration Set Ups

This program deals with side kick set-ups using other kicks.
  1. How to use other kicks to distract, while a side kick is launched?
  2. How to move the guard or secure the guard?
Moving the guard is forcing the opponent to move the hands away from the intended target, exposing it. Securing the guard is making sure that the open target stays open.

In this training program you will learn:
  • To land correctly you good side kick.
  • To utilize the kick fully.

Roundhouse Kick: Technical Kicking Leg Development

Technical Kicking Leg Development would work for the roundhouse kick. Many people including myself do not throw a roundhouse kick with the same end position. For this reason, we have this program.

What are the different end positions for the roundhouse kick?
In short, whether the roundhouse position is similar to side kick depends on the pivot of the supporting leg mostly, and knee action of the kicking leg.

A roundhouse kick ending up in flexed hip position draws its power from the kicking hip and torso rotation

Roundhouse Kick: Speed Development

The speed of a roundhouse kick, just like the speed of other kicks, depends on two factors:
  • Proper chain acceleration
  • Ability to decelerate.
You are probably thinking, “What about staying loose? I heard you have to stay loose?" Yes, that is correct, and that is a part of proper chain acceleration.

In this training program you will learn:
  • How to strengthen your hamstrings.
  • How to develop the proper chain.
  • Little by little, you will learn how to begin to practice the kick with artificial deceleration.
  • Gradually building the muscles to decelerate on their own, and allow for full speed.

Roundhouse Kick Power Development

When training for power, kick deceleration is not taken into the equation, as the target serves as the decelerator. That is one of the differences between power and speed training. (In speed training deceleration is very important.)

In this training program you will learn:
  • Proper acceleration
  • Timing of impact
  • The vectors must be aligned

Hook Kick: Power Development

This program teaches you how to add power to the hook kick.

Many full contact fighters who have a fast and well timed hook kick usually abandon using it in fighting. The reason for that is because landing a hook kick, without doing damage puts the kicker into a difficult position. That is because the body turns into the opposite direction of the kick.

Why do so many hook kicks lack power?
One of the reason is that, most kickers will turn out the supporting leg. This places the muscles of the kicking leg into poor position of leverage biomechanically. The primary reason this happens besides the habit of “when in doubt pivot by default”, is lack of strength to dig into the floor. The secondary reason is that most martial artists end the side kick and just hook the leg (flex the knee).

Front Kick and Front Line Kicks:
Technical Kicking Leg Development

This is the program that develops the kicking leg of the front line kicks. Here is a more in depth explanation.

When it comes to elasticity and general strength to perform a kick correctly, all front line kicks share the same strength/flexibility requirements.

In this training program you will learn:

  • Zaichik Stretching Technique develops flexibility.
  • Reciprocal Inhibition and Antagonist Short Range Conditioning develop strength.

Front Kick: Speed Development

What’s the difference?
In terms of speed the mechanics of acceleration and deceleration are different. A traditional snap front kick (Mae Geri, Ap Chagi) is when the foo travels in a circular path. Thus the slow down or deceleration is taken on by the hamstrings. While linear kicks such as Teep is decelerated by the hip flexors and adductors.

So as you can see different muscles need to be trained to slow the kick and pull it back. At the same time the acceleration chain is also different.

In this training program you will learn:
  • To strengthen the decelerators.
  • To developpe proper chain to throw a kick.
  • To assist the kick in its deceleration gently.
  • The proper mechanics are in place and the muscles are strong, flexible and aware enough to pull the kick back at the right time.

Push Front Kick Power Development

This program develops the power of a push front kick. A push front kick is a linear kick. It’s different from a circular basic front kick.

The kick has several uses:
  • To push off balance: With proper weight behind the kick, it can easily throw the opponent back.
  • To check distance: Often used to adjust and keep the desired distance between you and your opponent.
  • As stopping kick: This is a defensive use of a kick. The kick stops a charging opponent.
  • Finally as power kick: A power kick is designed to do damage. To use this kick for power, thrust is the key.
Just like the side kick, Front Push Kick is adjusted to it’s mechanical purpose.

Regardless of what you want out of the kick, the training components are the same.

In this program we first address the conditioning. A small targeted group of exercises prepares the body for impact.

Axe Kick Power: Perfect Form Development

The Axe kick is one of those kicks that either misses completely or lands on something. Head, nose, jaw, shoulder, arm, even chest. Most people don’t expect it and when faked or set up by another technique it often lands.

The biggest question I been getting about the Axe kick over years is: Can it be powerful enough to knock people out? It can be, but I only entertain this question from people who have the flexibility to throw it.

An Axe kick is usually to the head. So flexibility is needed or it’s a useless discussion. Now, if you can have the range for the kick, we can talk about power

Ball of the Foot: Point of Impact

This program is designed to improve the strength and flexibility of feet and toes and present a perfect ball of the foot striking position.

In simple terms you learn specialized training exercises to be able pull the toes back and toward you, while kicking. The goal of any ball of the foot kick is the same: to strike with the foot parallel to the target.

This applies to the snap front kick, push front kick, roundhouse kick and twist kick.

Having the foot at the right angle to the target is the most biomechanically advantageous position. This means you deliver the most power, if you can kick this way.

Exercises which make the foot and toes not only more flexible, but also stronger.
The strength part protects from injury and prevents “buckling” upon impact.

Scorpion Kick:
Perfect form Development

This program teaches the progression to a perfect scorpion kick.

The Scorpion Kick is an impressive looking kick. If your primary goal is street self defense of course this kick is not for you. We have made this program simply because many people want to master this kick, and have asked for the program.

In this training program you will learn:
  • Two ways for this kick
  • To develop the most difficult part of the skill, which is, the 180 degree horizontal abduction:

Flying Side Kick: Technique and Jumping Height Development

Flying Jump Kick is a fancy looking kick, which in most peoples' minds is reserved for the movies, demonstration, and breaking.

In this training program you will learn:
  • A safe flying jump kick progression and develop the height of the kick.
  • The capacity to jump high while performing this kick is found in a proper takeoff.
  • Conditioning for the flying jump kick involves strength and plyometric exercises.
  • The progression in this program involves drills that will teach you how to "fly”, in small increments, gradually. Gradual advancement is what prevents injuries.

Flying Split Scissors Kick, Two Direction Kick

A Flying Scissors Kick sometimes called Jump Split Scissors Kick, is a flying side kick with one leg and twist kick with the other. It’s not a kick for everyone to master. Definitely not something taught in a self-defense oriented school. However it’s a great demo kick. Good for light breaking. Something a kick enthusiast would train for. At the same time, certain systems require the Two Directional Kick in their curriculum.

In this training program you will learn:
  • Special conditioning exercises.
  • Special positioning and strength exercises to do the kick properly.
  • Following the conditioning you will learn a multi step progression to fully master this kick.

Twist Kick Technical Kicking Leg Development

Twist kick is martial arts kick resembling a front kick, the main difference is that the hip is turned out. This allows for the target to be outside instead of in front. This kick is common to Korean styles, such as Taekwondo and Hapkido. Lately it has been adopted by other martial arts and competition styles, such as American Sport Karate and Point Fighting.

Kinesiological stretching techniques take care of the flexibility component

Adductors Strength & Flexibility
This program contains:
Adductors are four muscles whose primary role is hip adduction. Adduction is pulling the limb toward the mid-line of the body.

Additionally some texts list Pectineus as an adductor. There are a number of other muscles that also adduct the leg. Most of those muscles are external rotators of the hip. Since most applications of abduction have a superimposed lateral rotation, additional adductors do not restrict abduction or horizontal abduction. The exception are medial hamstrings, which are internal rotators of the hip.
Complete Shoulder Flexion
This program contains:
Being able to stretch the shoulder abductors and extensors, as well as scapula inferior rotators allows the arm to come up to at least vertical line. In many cases more than 180 degree is needed, in throwing sports for example, such as javelin, football and baseball. Same applied to serves in volleyball and rocket sports.
Hamstrings Advanced Level
This programs contains:
The Advanced Hamstrings routine is for those of you who are familiar with the Zaichik Stretching techniques and can comfortably implement the routine. It takes things up a notch by introducing muscle contraction in addition to muscle action for an even more intense workout.
